Regenaration of the Outeiro riverside area

Final Design

Mondim da Beira, Tarouca

20/01/2017

This project aims to regenerate the area near the Romanesque bridge of Mondim da Beira, a Site of Public Interest since 1933 which has undergone a series of impromptu, intrusive work which has degraded the space over the years.
The proposed design thus attempts to reconcile all aspects of the area’s plan and limitations, following a work methodology in line with the demands and goals of creating a landscape offering high levels of quality and human comfort.

To lay the groundwork for the space’s use – long desired by the local residents – traffic and leisure areas will be created, while still fully respecting the space’s existing architectural and natural heritage.
Keeping human intervention to a minimum will be a constant goal.
